Recently, there has been a significant amount of research regarding the use of cord blood stem cells in the treatment of cerebral palsy. Parents who bank their own child’s cord blood can use the stem cells from that blood in an effort to repair damaged brain tissue. However, there is still hope for children without banked cord blood; they can use the cord blood of others if it is a correct match.
