Speech Therapy For Cerebral Palsy

Children who experience brain injury may also experience difficulties speaking, either due to cognitive issues or to muscular issues, depending upon which area of the brain was injured.

Speech therapy is performed by a speech and language pathologist, who focuses on strengthening facial muscles as well as the other muscles found in the jaw, tongue, and head. In addition to helping kids learn to speak, speech therapy can help a child eat and breathe.

Most insurances cover some portion of speech therapy. However, if you find that your child is not getting the amount of speech therapy they need, or if you are having trouble getting this benefit, contact us for more information on how we can help.
