Child Safety Seat Defects

Child safety seats are designed to protect children in the event of an accident. While every parent tucks their child into their safety seat thinking that they are doing the utmost to protect their loved on, in some tragic cases defective child seats have caused serious injury, including brain injury.

Common child safety seat defects include those related to the following:

• Belt fasteners that don’t hold.
• Belts that are too loose.
• Seats that have cracked or shattered on impact.
• Seats with excessive incline.
• Buckles that come open.
• Seats with choking hazards.

If you believe that your child’s brain injury is the result of a child safety seat defect, be sure that the child safety seat is not destroyed before a thorough investigation is completed. If your child was injured as a result of a child safety seat defect, you may be due compensation that can help pay for your child’s medical needs, both now and in the future.
