Grant Winners
2010 1st Quarter Grant Winner
Danielle's Foundation is proud to announce that we have awarded our FIRST quarterly grant to Noah W. of Colorado! (The deadline for our next grant for therapy or medical equipment is June 30th-so contact ustoday to apply!)
Meet Noah!

Noah is 15 months old and has been diagnosed with HIE and cerebral palsy as a result of not breathing or having a heartbeat for the first 13 minutes of his life. Doctors told Noah's family that he may never be able to walk, talk, eat or even breathe on his own, but they remained hopeful-and Noah proved to be their little miracle.
His family discovered a great "alternative" therapy called the Feldenkrais/Anat Baniel Method, which uses gentle movements that are said to help his brain create new neural connections and patterns, which in turn builds a new bridge between his brain and body. Unfortunately, Noah's insurance has refused coverage for this therapy, so his family has had to pay out of pocket for all his treatments.
Before his therapy, Noah really struggled with his ability to move. But within just a few weeks of starting therapy, he made tremendous improvements at a very fast rate. It is our hope that with this ongoing therapy, he will continue making great progress and have the potential to one day learn how to sit, crawl, walk and talk! His family is overjoyed with his progress and holds so much hope for his future.
Congratulations to Noah and his family!
2010 1st Quarter Winner
Thanks to an unexpected generous donation, our foundation was able to help TWO families this quarter by awarding them both $2,000 grants. We are proud to announce that we will be awarding our SECOND grant to Canaan G. of Tennessee. The deadline for our next grant for therapy or medical equipment is June 30th-so contact us today to apply!
Meet Canaan!

Canaan is 3 years old and suffered an anoxic brain injury (among other diagnoses) shortly after birth. Canaan was born with a hole in his heart, but his doctor said that it was so small it probably wouldn't cause any damage. Shortly after bringing Canaan home he became really fussy and after consulting with many doctors and trying several different formulas they thought he was just colicky and he would grow out of it. But about 6 weeks after his birth, his mother went in to check on him before work and he was lifeless. His hands were blue, his mouth and nose were purple, and he was ice cold. Canaan was immediately rushed to the ER, and then rushed to a larger hospital. Upon arriving at the second hospital, doctors saw he had two diapers that were full of blood and decided he needed to be airlifted to the children's hospital. When Canaan's parents were finally able to see him (he was hooked up to IV's, tubes a ventilator and under a heat lamp), doctors told his parents he had stopped breathing 3 times while being air lifted there, and that his CT scan showed his brain was severely damaged and was swelling. His doctors didn't have much hope for Canaan, but he pulled through!
That was only the beginning! Over the past 3 years Canaan has struggled a lot, but each time he has proved that he is truly a fighter and his parent's miracle! Canaan still has a long road ahead of him; he is completely dependent on others for care. He is really spastic and cannot sit up or walk on his own, has poor head control and has no use of his hands.
Canaan has tried a few different therapies, but his family had requested assistance with continuing his physical therapy, which insurance will no longer cover. Canaan's family has always remained hopeful and holds so much for his future and feels that he has so much potential, and when given the chance there is no limit to how much he can improve. Congratulations to Canaan and his family! It is our hope that with this therapy Canaan will make great progress!
